This page is a simple compendium of links to various innaresting web sites dealing with boardsailing, that I myself use. I hope you also find them useful. I sail in the San Francisco Bay Area (Calif., USA), usually at one of the Peninsula or Rio sites, or up north in the Gorge.  Someday I want to sail in Hawaii. [I haven't been sailing for almost 10 years now because I've been working a lot, or having fun at my kids' little league and soccer games. I intend to get back to sailing (and cycling, and running) one of these days, hopefully with my sons in tow. ;^) After all, fatherhood is yet another form of endurance sport. Also note that there may be many broken links below, as I'm a sloth wrt updating this page. • How Far is IT??

This service displays the location of one or two places (and calculates the distance between them in the latter case).

I should go thu this old news and see if any of the links still wurk, but I've been way too busy with work'n kidz for the past several years, so caveat emptor. I don't know if Windsight is still around. AFAIK the SFO runway expansion is still an on-going topic/possibility/threat. I don't think the new buildings have been built there by Coyote yet, but the old drive-in theatre screens are gone.

• Windsight / Micro-Forecasts Police Investigation!!!
  • If you have EVER done business with Windsight / Micro-Forecasts and given them a credit card number -- check your account!! I've personally been fradulently charged $1500 over the past month or so (in three $500 increments in Jun & Jul 2000). This has apparently been happening to others, one of whom is supposedly a fraud dectective (oops, busted! (we hope)). See THIS POSTING in rec.windsurfing for info on how to proceed with the Portland Police if you feel you've been fraudulently charged by Windsight / Micro-Forecasts. See THIS SEARCH RESULT for a thread of 60+ messages dealing with the problems folks have been having with Windsight / Micro-Forecasts.

• Coyote Point (SF, Calif, USA) Sailing Quality threatened.

• See also the SFBA CoyotePt status pages. (it looks like tall buildings may get built close to the water, still time to fight it in Jan 2000.)

• Update July 2000 -- Looks like the buildings got approved (sigh) BUT the original plans from way-back-when were scaled-down due to boardsailer input, so it's not as bad as it could be.
